On 2–3 April 2026, Saulius Fomenko attended ICAN Canada — the International Conference for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders — at the Niagara Falls Convention Centre in Ontario. The visit followed Charlotte, Michiana and Chicago.
Dr Temple Grandin was one of the keynote speakers. Saulius attended her presentation and met her at the conference. Autistic people’s experiences were presented alongside perspectives from families, clinical practice and research.
The programme covered nutrition, metabolism, technology and support for autistic people. Dr Alok Sharma presented on changes in autism management over the past 50 years. Emerging and regenerative approaches are described here as conference discussion topics, not as established treatments for autism.
Sonya Doherty, ND, and Carissa Doherty, ND, participated in the event. Saulius already knew Sonya professionally and also visited her outside the conference during the Canada trip. He became acquainted with her sister Carissa during this visit.
Saulius also reconnected with Sarah Glofcheskie, founder and CEO of BeMe.ai, an autism-focused health technology company with which he had previously worked. These meetings continued professional relationships; they did not announce new formal partnerships.
For LukoLab, the value lay in the different questions people brought: what matters in a family’s daily life, what research can establish, and where technology could help connect information. ICAN concluded the first sequence of LukoLab’s 2026 international visits in the US and Canada.
