BIO-RED accelerator

RareBridge

A child’s medical story needs to retain its meaning when the language, country or specialist changes. The hackathon prototype built in Sofia has grown into a development project selected for the BIO-RED accelerator.

The problem we want to address.

Records travel. Meaning can get lost.

Families of children with rare or complex conditions often need to explain a long history to a new specialist. Different languages, document formats and medical terminology make that conversation harder.

A semantic passport concept.

RareBridge aims to present information with its context: what an entry means, where it came from and who needs it. The concept includes different family and professional views, with sharing controlled by the family.

What exists and what comes next.

Demonstration prototype

The BIO-RED hackathon produced a clickable demonstration, an architecture concept and a business rationale. The team won the hackathon.

A new stage

BIO-RED accelerator

RareBridge has been selected for the BIO-RED accelerator. Next comes refining team responsibilities, use cases and an evaluation plan with professionals and family representatives.

We are looking for

Development partners and funding

Relevant expertise includes clinical terminology, data security, product development and responsible research design. Funding opportunities are being explored.

The Sofia project team.

Saulius Fomenko · Mónica Seabra Simões · Delyan Georgiev · R. Liantsoa Zofeno

Mentors: Deyan Blagoev and Trifon Tsekov. These are the people who worked on the project in Sofia; the ongoing project team is still taking shape.

RareBridge is not yet a clinical service available to families. Real-world data handling, clinical suitability and the intended security principles still require implementation and validation.
